Public Health Speaker Series

About the Public Health Speaker Series

The UC Merced Public Health Speaker Series is an interdisciplinary forum that showcases transformative research, fosters collaborative dialogue, and highlights shared commitments to advancing health equity.

By featuring scholars and public health leaders whose expertise spans environmental health, epidemiology, health communications, and the social determinants of health, this series reflects the diverse strengths of our department—from community-engaged research to epidemiological methods—to address issues such as access to healthcare, maternal-child health, food insecurity, mental health, tobacco/substance use disparities, and structural inequities.

Our goals are to:

  • Promote evidence-based strategies that tackle pressing public health challenges and uphold the principle that health is a fundamental right.
  • Facilitate the exchange of ideas, where faculty, students, and collaborators come together to drive innovations and build healthier, more equitable communities in the region, state, and beyond.
