Parental beliefs in natural immunity and household history of child COVID-19 infection in a rural and agricultural region

On October 14, 2026, Public Health graduate student, Guilherme Zamperlin Redondo, presented “Parental Beliefs in Natural Immunity and Household History of Child COVID-19 Infection in a Rural and Agricultural Region” at the UCSF Health Equity and Anti-Racism Research (HEAR) Symposium. This community-engaged study examined the relationship between parents’ beliefs that natural immunity offers better protection than COVID-19 vaccination and household history of child COVID-19 infection in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The research brought together collaborators from UC Merced, the University of the Pacific, and Cultiva Central Valley to explore factors influencing COVID-19 beliefs and experiences in rural and agricultural communities.
