Welcome Dr. Kimberly Sánchez, a new instructor in our department. While she is new to the instructor role, she is no stranger to our department. She has undergraduate degrees from UC Merced in Spanish, Psychology, and Public Health. She earned her PhD in our department, and recently was a postdoctoral scholar in the Health Sciences Research Institute, Center for Health Equity, where she conducted community-based participatory research focused on patient-provider trust, the role of community health workers, and advancing culturally and linguistically appropriate care to improve health equity in the San Joaquin Valley. Her research interests also include obesity prevention, nutrition, and related health disparities. She is teaching research methods and health communication fall semester and is organizing our undergraduate internship course. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking in Yosemite, and taking pictures of sunsets.
