UC Merced will hold a free Spanish-language health conference for the community on Saturday, Nov. 16, with sessions on topics including preventative health measures, coping with stress, domestic violence and vaccines.

The event is led by the Medical Spanish Service Learning Project, which trains students how to discuss medical topics in Spanish.

The fair will feature workshops and conferences on safe food handling; diabetes prevention and control; the pros and cons of vaccinations; domestic violence and bullying; preventive dental health; stress in student life; and Valley fever.

Free flu shots will be provided.

The health fair takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Classroom and Office Building 2, room 110 at UC Merced. Registration is required and can be completed online.
