In collaboration with Fairmead Community and Friends and the Madera Department of Public Health, undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty from UC Merced’s Public Health Department participated in the Fairmead Health Survey and Fairmead Health Fair on October 21, 2017.
The goal of the health survey was to gather information for the Madera Department of Public Health. As well as to learn more about how local departments of public health engage the communities they serve. The results of the health survey will be presented at community meetings in Fairmead in February 2018.
Fairmead is an incorporated part of Madera County, thirty minutes south of UC Merced. Bilingual teams conducted door to door surveys to ask residents about their health and neighborhood.
