Join us in congratulating Jamie Yan, a UC Merced junior majoring in Public Health, who was recently selected for the Nutrition and Physical Activity Traineeship offered by the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists in conjunction with CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity. Jamie is one of only five students nationwide who received this placement, which features a paid, eight-week traineeship program that will teach the competencies needed for entry-level public health professional occupations related to nutrition and physical activity. A goal of the traineeship is to help build a more diverse public health workforce by creating an interest in public health as a career, with emphasis in nutrition and physical activity.
